1. Why does the review prompt state "t he screen-printed layer overlaps with the pads or the solder mask openings"?
This indicates that in your design files, some silk-screened text or markings are located on the pads or openings of the solder mask layer. If the silk-screen ink is applied to the pad area, it will affect the soldering process, resulting in poor soldering or contamination of the solder joint surface.
PCBasic suggests removing the printed text on the pads and maintaining a distance of ≥ 0.2 mm between the printed text and the pads. If there are indeed special markings that need to be close to the pads, please specify in the order remarks. We will confirm the feasibility before production.
2. Why are my screen-printed characters deleted or shifted after production?
This is because the silk-screened graphics or text are too close to the pads and vias. The system automatically optimizes the situation, deleting or shifting these texts to prevent the silk-screen ink from falling onto the welding area.
Note: This is a normal CAM engineering adjustment, which is used to ensure welding quality and production safety.
3. What are the basic requirements for the screen printing layer design?
Screen printing minimum line width: 0.15 mm
Minimum text height: 1.0 mm
Spacing between screen printing and pad edge: ≥ 0.2 mm
Screen printing should be done on the solder mask layer and must not be directly printed on the bare copper.
Note: To ensure clear printing and reliable welding, please check the silk-screen preview before exporting Gerber files, making sure that the text does not cover the pads or expose the copper foil areas.
